INFORMATION FOR PATIENTS
The Federal Council extends the certificate requirement.
As of September 13th 2021, it will also apply inside restaurants, cultural and leisure facilities. The certificate documents a Covid-19 vaccination, a previous illness or a negative test result, the obligation applies from 16 years of age.
For physiotherapy a Covid certificate is not required
This applies to all indoor physiotherapeutic individual and group therapies including MTT (regardless of whether the MTT is carried out in the fitness area of a physiotherapy or a fitness center). Also for group lessons of up to 30 participants, which take place in permanent groups outside or in separate, well-ventilated rooms. The hygiene and distance rules (at least 1.5 meters) as well as the obligation to wear a mask and collect contact details remain unchanged in accordance with the practice’s protection concept.
For “fitness customers” who use the physiotherapy equipment, however, a certificate is required
A physiotherapy practice (with or without a fitness area) is part of the basic care and is therefore not affected by the expansion of the certificate requirement. However, the previous protection concept must continue to be implemented. For example, it is still mandatory to wear a mask in all indoor areas, regardless of the vaccination status or whether patients and employees have a certificate. Even healthy people who train in a physiotherapy practice with a fitness subscription must adhere to the practice’s protection concept. Because a practice must ensure that particularly vulnerable patients are protected – for example from possible transmission by vaccinated people who can also be Crona carriers.
