What is podology?
Podology, as non-medical foot care, focuses on the care and treatment of the feet. The term comes from the Greek: “podos” meaning foot and “logos” meaning study. As a recognized medical profession according to the Podologists Act (PodG), podology is an important part of medical care. Podiatrists often cooperate with health insurance companies to offer professional treatments to patients, such as diabetics suffering from diabetic foot syndrome. Foot problems like corns, calluses, nail fungus, calluses, and ingrown nails can be effectively treated through regular podiatric care.
